What is a Physiotherapist?
Physiotherapists are university trained and are experts in injury diagnosis, injury treatment, exercise prescription, injury prevention, rehabilitation and many other areas of sport and health and fitness.
What do I need to bring?
Your first session will begin with a thorough assessment. Please bring a list of any medications you are taking and any appropriate test results.
How many visits will I need?
The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, the physiotherapist will discuss their treatment plan for the rehabilitation process.
What should I wear to my appointment?
You may be asked to partially undress to allow your therapist to perform a full assessment and treatment. Clients with leg issues are advised to wear shorts. Please note sports bras are often difficult for therapists to work around and therefore vests with flexible straps that can be moved are advised.
How do I make an appointment?
To make an appointment you can either ring our receptionist Wendy on 07958 393539 or you can click book now on our website which will take you to an online booking system.
Do I have to be referred by a doctor?
No, physiotherapists can assess and treat without referral by a doctor. However most health insurers require a doctors referral before they authorise cover of fees, some only require a phone call.
Of course, it is important that you are happy and comfortable with your therapist. We have a full team of both male and female therapists to choses from. A bio for each team member can be found on our website but if you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Your therapist will start the session taking a full history of how your injury happened, any medication you are taking, any tests/investigations or other treatments you have had and any medical history. They will then perform an objective assessment which will include looking at your movement and performing relevant tests.
All of our therapists are qualified to a minimum of degree level and specialise in musculoskeletal conditions. Sports therapists can help with all musculoskeletal conditions, not just sports injuries. If you have any questions before booking, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We will check with your health insurance provide to determine if outpatient physical therapy services are covered under your plan. We recommend that you confirm your insurance coverage.
To cancel or change an appointment you can either ring our receptionist Wendy on 07958 393539 or click cancel on your booking confirmation email, this will allow you to cancel or rebook.
We are approved by all major healthcare providers, please check with your provider before attending and bring all appropriate membership and authorisation numbers with you to your first appointment.
We offer 30 and 60 minute appointments. We advise booking a 60 minute appointment for your first session so that the therapist can perform a thorough assessment and treatment. The therapist will then make recommendations for further sessions.
