The Physio Clinic is a private physiotherapy company based within the North East of England. We have clinics in Darlington, Northallerton and Thirsk, as well as providing home visits in the surrounding areas.
Katie - Chartered Physiotherapist
Katie completed a HND in Sport and Exercise Sciences at Teesside University before continuing her studies to complete a BSc (hons) degree in Physiotherapy. Katie is registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
After completing her training within the NHS Katie moved into working in the private sector where she has gained a wealth of experience across a variety of environments. Katie has worked with Team GB providing treatment at the World Equestrian Games, World Championships and European Championships. In the clinic Katie provides treatment to a variety of clients including private patients, occupational health, medico-legal clients and athletes. Katie also provides home visits for patient’s unable to attend the clinics.
Katie has a keen interest in lower back pain and core strength. Since qualifying as a physiotherapist Katie has gone on to become a qualified Pilates instructor where she provides programmes for individual clients and groups. She is also trained in Kinesio Taping.
John - Chartered Physiotherapist
John completed a BSc (hons) degree in Sports Therapy in 2005 and then relocated to Sheffield to complete a masters in Sports Injury & Medicine at the Sheffield Centre of Sports Medicine (SCSM). Continuing his studies, he then relocated back to Teesside to work for a further as a graduate Sports Therapist before attending Teesside University in January 2008 to complete a 2 year postgraduate diploma in physiotherapy.
He has gained a wealth of experience from working in different musculoskeletal environments which include occupational physiotherapy, NHS (GP surgeries & health centres), private practice and sport. He has also worked in football at semi-professional and professional levels in both Scotland and England and has over 10 years’ experience working in the fitness industry as a fitness consultant and personal trainer.
Since qualifying as a physiotherapist he has completed further courses which include functional assessment and treatments of the lumbar spine, sacroiliac joint and pelvis and has completed a foundation degree in acupuncture. He has also had the opportunity to use Shockwave therapy with patients at previous positions which he has a keen interest in.
John is registered with the Health & care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
Outside of work John enjoys general strength & conditioning and fitness at the gym, walking his dog and watching Hawaii 5-0. He also enjoys watching Rugby league, NFL and Italian football.
